Why Luster Is the Preferred Choice for Badminton Court Lighting

Purpose-built for racquet sports — not adapted from warehouse or retail lighting. Every specification is optimized for player performance and comfort.

Anti-Glare & Eye Protection

Pickleball involves constant overhead tracking. Our advanced asymmetrical optics direct light precisely onto the court, eliminating blinding glare for players and neighbors.

Equipped with a unique linear lens and an additional optical cut-off design, our Luster series ensures that 100% of the light is evenly distributedstrictly inside the play area .Zero light spills to the outside field, preventing any neighbor complaints or local light pollution issues.

Built to Last

Pickleball games are fast and intense.Boasting the highest IK10 impact protection rating , our rugged aluminum 6063 housing and robust PC optics are 100% immune to high-velocity stray ball strikes. Enjoy total peace of mind for over 15+ years.

Tool-Free Quick Connection — Cut Installation Time & Labor Costs by 50%

Our advanced seamless interlocking design allows fixtures to snap together effortlessly. Equipped with heavy-duty plug-and-play connectors, you can link multiple lights in a continuous row within seconds no complex wiring or expensive electric labor required. Perfect for rapid deployment in large commercial indoor clubs or multi-court projects.

No more losing the ball in shadows. Achieve perfect light uniformity ($U_o > 0.7$) to ensure every corner of the baseline is crystal clear.

Zero Dark Zones & High Uniformity

Equipped with a unique lens and an additional cut-off design, luster linear light ensures that light is evenly distributed acrossthe play area without any waste on the outer sides of the field.

Badminton Court Lighting

What is the recommended lux level for badminton court lighting?

For recreational badminton, a minimum of 300 lux is recommended on the playing surface. Club and competition-level courts typically require 500–750 lux. For televised international tournaments, 750–1,000+ lux with uniformity ratio (Uh) above 0.7 is standard. Luster fixtures can achieve all these levels depending on the wattage selected and installation height.

How many LED lights do I need for a badminton court?

A standard single badminton court (13.4m × 6.1m) typically requires 4–8 Luster linear fixtures depending on ceiling height and target lux level. For multi-court halls, our engineering team can provide a free photometric design with fixture layout and predicted lux values before purchase.

What is the ideal color temperature for badminton court lighting?

5000K–5700K (cool white / daylight) is most commonly specified for indoor badminton courts. This range provides crisp, high-contrast illumination that makes it easier for players to track the shuttlecock. For outdoor courts or warmer aesthetic preferences, 4000K is also popular. Luster is available in 3000K, 4000K, 5000K, 5700K, and 6500K.

How do I reduce glare in my badminton hall?

Glare is one of the most common complaints in badminton facilities. Traditional floodlights and high-bay fixtures create harsh glare that disrupts player vision during overhead shots. Luster's proprietary asymmetric lens and cutoff design produce a UGR below 19, virtually eliminating disturbing glare while maintaining high light levels on the court surface.

Can Luster lights be used for outdoor badminton courts?

Yes. Luster is IP65-rated and IK10 impact-resistant, making it fully suitable for outdoor badminton courts exposed to rain, dust, humidity, and temperature extremes from -40°C to +45°C. The sealed housing also prevents insects from nesting inside the fixture — a common problem in tropical regions.

What dimming options are available?

Luster supports DALI-2, D4i, 0/1-10V, PWM, and Passive Resistance dimming. It is also compatible with a Knob Dimmer accessory for simple manual control. Smart control allows you to dim lights between matches for energy savings, or brighten to full output for competitions or video recording.

How long do badminton court LED lights last?

Luster is rated at L70B10 >102,000 hours — meaning the fixture maintains at least 70% of its initial light output for over 102,000 hours before 10% of units would show failure. Under typical usage of 12 hours/day, this exceeds 23 years of operation. A 5-year product warranty is included.

What is the difference between a linear LED and a floodlight for badminton?

Floodlights produce a wide, uncontrolled beam that spills light in all directions, causing glare and wasted lumens. Linear LED fixtures like Luster use a directional asymmetric lens to send light precisely where it's needed — downward onto the court — with virtually no upward light waste. This results in less glare, better uniformity, and lower energy consumption for the same illuminance level.

What are the surge protection ratings?

Luster provides 10kV surge protection in both differential and common modes, safeguarding the fixture against power spikes and lightning-related surges — important for outdoor courts and locations with unstable grid power.
